Voices that need to be heard

pedestrian in car-centric cityA lot has happened since 2015 when I wrote Black Lives at a Crossroad, and a White Woman’s Attempts to Understand. I’ve been doing the hard work to learn what I’d never been taught. As a result, sometimes I have stepped forward when the situation has warranted that I do so in order to be a positive advocate. And sometimes, such as yesterday, I stepped back, when I knew that I was in the way of the voices that really need to be heard instead.
