I met my garden-neighbor from Ethiopia for the first time at our shared community garden yesterday. I gave him tomato cages. He gave me tomatoes. Good deal!
I bungee-corded them carefully to my bike and rode between rains.
Back home, as I lined tomatoes on my windowsill for the first time all season, I felt rich. Wonderfully, abundantly rich. It’s as simple as that.
