Return to the Light

I knew today was gonna hit hard. I entered the winter of my life when I turned 60 this past August, near the tail end of Round America with a Duck. Today’s Winter Solstice reminds me that the first day of winter, and every day to come for me, is a return to the light.

I rode my bike to the power lines and watched the sun rise. And I danced. And it felt light – and right.
