My Birthday Request

A year ago today I dipped my tire in the Pacific Ocean, after having dipped it months earlier in the Atlantic Ocean as well during my journey Round America with a Duck via bike, buses, trains and working on organic farms. A few days later I turned 60. There were many days I didn’t think I would make it to either accomplishment.

Now, I’m facing —and embracing — 61, after a truly memorable year following that five-month/10,000 mile journey. I’m leaving in 22 days for the sequel, Round Ireland with a Duck — which will include three more WWOOF farms! That will make a total of 11 (I did one as a pilot test for Round America with a Duck; five on the journey; and two more here in Georgia since returning home).

Short answer? I try really hard. I throw myself fully into what I do. I write my heart out, and folks who read my stuff tend to find it worthwhile. If you have not yet bought and read Round America with a Duck or given a five-star review (if you loved it) on Amazon and/or Goodreads, I’m humbly asking if you would do so this week. I’d really appreciate it. In fact, it would mean a lot to remind me that I’m on the right path forward as I start another trip around the sun.

Thanks.

P.S. Stay tuned! I’m being interviewed for another podcast (here’s the first, if you missed it) next week. I’ll share a post and TikToks about it afterwards — consider following me on TikTok at SpeedofBike. That continues to be a fun place to be — and fun matters, now more than ever.
