The City of Dunwoody, Georgia, USA has confirmed that there will be no pop-up/temporary or permanent protected bike lane anywhere in the city during National Bike Month 2025 (May) or for any confirmed date thereafter*, despite yet more meetings, emails, and city councilor requests to do so. They can’t figure out how to do it. So, here we are again, in the gutter of failed imagination, required to take a leap of faith every time we or our loved ones ride bikes (photo above taking by my friend Paul Lowry).
This is a reminder to you that if your city wanted to be truly safe for people on bikes, it would be. It’s actually not hard.
