There is a trail of emails of people who opposed the multiuse path at the top of this post, which connects three parks in Dunwoody and which I use as part of my daily transportation to many other places. It is now indisputably the most beloved and used amenity in the city. Thank goodness for the people who spoke out in support of it.

It is now indisputably a major safety upgrade on a key transportation corridor while also improving economic vitality of our local businesses. There is a trail of emails that I have sent over the past 17 years simply encouraging the implementation of the safe-access-for-all that citizens already supported in our lengthy Comprehensive Land Use Plan and multiple master plan processes. Here is one from five years ago, during COVID, when we seemed to have a unique opporutnity. Here are the latest. Note: Almost none of the “bike lanes” in our city meet safe-access-for-all standards.

Now, there needs to be a trail of emails from you, the families that attended yesterday’s fantastic Bike Rodeo and Trail Ride, letting City Hall hear that no is not an answer, delay equals death, and we will no longer accept the cone of silence about immediate improvements to basic safety in our shared public space known as roads.

Here are the email addresses of your city councilors here in the Metro Atlanta City of Dunwoody. Please. Joe can’t do it alone anymore. (It was nice to see four city councilors, the police department, and many others at the Bike Rodeo and Trail Ride yesterday. Don’t blow this momentum, team.)
