I didn’t intend to go by the middle school where 300 trees were cut down this week to make room for artificial turf. I had driven to the park (since I don’t ride my bike on the streets in this suburb-city anymore) and was just knocking out a quick six miles by riding in circles on a path when, suddenly, there it was, right across the street. A sea of stumps.
And what stumped me even more? I saw a tweet just mere moments later that Trees Atlanta will be holding a tree sale soon right there in the park where I was riding. I can’t make this stuff up.
