While resting my bike in a field of clover so I could check on the public serviceberry and mulberry trees yesterday on Atlanta’s Freedom Parkway PATH, I got to thinking how pretty it was, how simple.
And then I got to thinking (yet again) how we’re doing it wrong, in general — this life thing. It’s not meant to be so complicated, so mean, so damaging to society and the earth. And we shouldn’t need to spend so much time trying to talk people-in-charge (or who think they are) into what is so very obviously good. In fact, I’m tired of it, perhaps even done with it. I don’t think it’s the way forward for us as a species. I think there is another way, and it involves free fruit and kindness and art and dignity.
My journey while Traveling at the Speed of Bike has been very spiritual, and I like where that’s taking me. If anyone wants to join me, you’re welcome to. There’s soft clover waiting for you.
