I’ve been adding to my photo essay, A Streetcar Named Aspire, for three and a half years now (since the streetcar started again in Atlanta) after Traveling at the Speed of Bike on the route as well as riding the streetcar. If interested, you can see the most recent (as of yesterday) forty three photos here.

As opposed to on the nearby Atlanta Beltline, change (i.e. gentrification) has been very slow, which I hope means there is a chance for some historic preservation AND existing community elevation on this route. Sweet Auburn Avenue used to be the wealthiest street of black-owned businesses in the USA.
