Meet Derek. He is Today’s Nice Stranger. He is a Bird scooter charger and was dropping off some freshly-charged ones when I came across him after riding a scooter myself (while my bike was locked up nearby). I’m researching something, and we got to talking.
Note: He did, actually, consent to my taking this photo after we had a very pleasant conversation. I make it a point to present people how they choose to present themselves, without insisting on a smile from anyone.
