Meet Peter

fullsizeoutput_22ab.jpegMeet Peter. He is TodaysNiceStranger. I was Traveling at the Speed of Bike on the Sustainability in Action Bike Tour* route and had just come from the demonstration fruit orchard at Piedmont Park when there he was, just sitting on a bench painting away. I asked if I could take a photo and we got to talking. I learned that he was in Atlanta from London to attend his daughter’s graduation from Emory University. She is then on her way to Côte d’Ivoire to set up a development project. He is quite fair and was getting quite sunburned so I am hoping he is not in pain today while being a proud dad in the audience!

By the way, Peter gave me his full name and said to look him up online and sure, enough, here he is! He is represented by the Cranley Gallery in London. Here’s a peek:

As I was setting up my morning coffee last night, I enjoyed watching Painting the Town, a 12-minute mini-documentary about him.

I wonder if we’ll see the painting in Piedmont Park listed on the gallery’s site soon!

* only the second ongoing bike tour in the world (after Copenhagen) dedicated to sustainability!
