It’s so rejuvenating to be back in my garden more lately. I forgot how garden advocacy work is so life-affirming (even though it was death that got me started there), whereas bike advocacy work deals with imminent death, death, death nationwide on a daily basis, and it’s heavy.
I’ll keep doing both because I think we can move that death stuff more toward life. I think we are making progress, even though it doesn’t always feel like it. I heard that my local suburb-city’s mayor and city council discussed last night how mere paint on the road does not = safe access. Maybe true life-enhancing (and saving) changes (not yet more “Lipstick on a Pig” Lanes) are coming.
There is hope. There is ALWAYS hope. In the meantime, my Traveling Bike Lane (aka #BikeNoodle) travels on, just trying to get home.
