Guerilla literacy

fullsizeoutput_2cde.jpegSo I passed what I call The Bridge to Terabithia yet again while Traveling at the Speed of Bike and was reminded how wild wisteria drapes across it in the spring and how around that time each year I always leave a copy of The Bridge to Terabithia book on it for passing middle-schoolers to take (and it’s always gone the next day). I like to perhaps encourage not just reading but their embrace of the little bit of wild that’s left out there, and inside of us.

I also got to thinking that leaving books in contextually-appropriate settings could be a fun thing. Guerrilla literacy. Does this exist yet as a concept?
