Lots of monumental change is happening right now in the USA (not to even mention the pandemic). Monumental Supreme Court decisions about LGBTQ employment rights and immigration regarding Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA, aka “Dreamers”), as well as monumental work between races as we face our past and embrace our future — dismantling not just monuments (the most recent of which being yesterday’s removal of the obelisk in the nearby metro Atlanta city of Decatur, Georgia) but also economic, environmental, and social inequities.
And so we face Juneteenth, 2020. There is still much work to be done. It matters. You matter.
