“Forest bathing”

So, apparently forest bathing is a thing. In Japan, it’s called shinrin-yoku and is intended to help you connect with the rejuvenating energies of the natural world through your senses. TIME Magazine published this article about it, and the nature center near me is even offering a class on it soon.

Yesterday after visiting my mother (outdoors, distanced, as usual these past five months during this global pandemic), I stopped at a greenway with my bike, rode into the forest, and bathed.

It’s been an interesting journey the past two weeks since the hit-and-run, and this simple little forest bath helped.
