This is the exact spot where I was yesterday when the news was announced that the killing of an innocent black woman, in the privacy of her home, was not a crime.
And so now, louder, for the people in the back:
Black lives matter.
Women matter.
Both of these groups (and their intersectionality) are experiencing a disproportionate amount of death at the hands of violence.
I will continue to bear witness. To share truth. To shine a light where I can. And to stand for others when they can’t.
