Art, Again

Art heals, but it won’t heal racism or misogyny.

Art rejuvenates, but it won’t bring back to life the eight people, including six Asian women, murdered by the same person two nights ago in three different locations throughout Metro Atlanta.

Art reveals, and it increasingly reveals systems that are failing people, and the indefatigable human spirit that somehow prevails.

This mural is featured on Buford Highway in Metro Atlanta*, which is the home of many immigrants representing numerous cultures, including a large Asian population.

I am following this horrific story closely, and looking to art, as always, for a momentary reminder that we are, together, bigger and better than hate.
