Twenty-three years ago, a tornado ripped through where I live and destroyed a bunch of homes and trees. Local folks started a festival to turn “lemons into lemonade” and raise money to replant the forest. Called Lemonade Days, it quickly became the most popular annual event in this suburb-city.
For a few years, there was also a Local Authors table. I sold my book there, and also really enjoyed getting to know a number of the other local authors.

Last year, Lemonade Days was canceled due to COVID. It’s back this year and is running all weekend. I rode by during off-hours yesterday on my way to rollerskate in a parking lot nearby the festival.
