Shine a light. See the light. Be the light. So much need for “light” in the world right now, as things get darker*.
The sun set on me while I was practicing rollerskating yet again last night and has not yet risen as I write this. Today, I will do research for my next profile interview. I will create a global bike-event calendar for my next bicycle mayor consortium meeting so we can collaborate more, in bigger ways, with more lead time. I will ride my bike to run errands, to do rubber-hits-the-road reporting, to have lunch and play bocce with my husband, and to rollerskate.
I’m always skating lately. Always centering joy, in all its conundrum. Always trying to shine a light. See the light. Be the light. And, as always, trusting the journey. Knowing that the goal is not the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s the light inside me, right now, today. Without question. Without apology. Without needing to defend or understand it.

This little light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine. And whatever will be, will be.
*Be sure you have front and back lights on your bike as it’s getting darker earlier now here in the northern hemisphere.
