Yesterday I caught the MARTA train to Atlanta’s West End stop and then rode a mile or so to the warehouses where the Relay Bikeshare headquarters is located, to meet with General Manager Julie Wells, and Marketing/Community Outreach Manager Timberley Jones. Another Relay Bikeshare fan, Carl Holt, joined me in becoming its first “VIP Ambassadors.” And field technician Nick joined in the photo fun.
In exchange for free bikeshare membership, double the daily time allotment, and waived out-of-hub/service area fees, I get to donate two hours a month of bikeshare-related outreach of my own choice. I intend to do more free classes that originate at Relay Bikeshare hubs (such as my upcoming classes at Atlantic Station at Piedmont Park); to host hub pop-up hours where I’ll chat (hello, Today’s Nice Stranger!) and demonstrate how to use Relay Bikeshare to passersby (I learned a thing or two yesterday that I didn’t know); and to continue my usual shout-outs on social media (plus see my bikeshare photo album from seven different cities here). I may even join Relay Bikeshare in a parade or two. Fun! Why not join me?
See here for links to buy my book, Traveling at the Speed of Bike, on Amazon in all global markets. I’m an indie author and your support is greatly appreciated. A portion of proceeds from the sale of all books is donated to help more women and girls ride bikes. Currently, that means funding my ability to do “Pedal Power with Pattie” Basic Bike Skills Classes for Women for free.
