NOTE: If you are arriving here from the link on my article on Unearth Women, click here for updated class info! I offer two different classes both remotely (via text, downloadable PDF, and Tiktok) and in person!
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the City of Decatur, Georgia’s Active Living Department chose to use this photo of mine in its latest playbook of class offerings to promote the Silver Spokes seniors-on-trikes class that I co-taught last year. I am thrilled to hear that class is continuing. Seniors-on-trikes is very close to my heart (there are a few stories about it in my book, Traveling at the Speed of Bike), and I’ve templated the class in case other communities find my lived experience helpful (see Bonus Resources).
I moved on from Decatur after my contract was done so that I could offer free classes around metro Atlanta specifically targeted toward women new and returning to bikes, and I’m thrilled to be returning to Decatur May 5 to kick off Bike Month with one of my “Pedal Power with Pattie” classes, in the exact location where I previously taught the Silver Spokes classes. There are currently two spots left. You can sign up here.
On a related note, I hear that the City of Roswell, Georgia, had an event this weekend for veterans on adaptive bikes and trikes. I want to find out more about that, and how I can help. There is still so, so much to learn.
