Toot, toot

Happiness is . . . getting a toot, toot from the streetcar drivers when I’m Traveling at the Speed of Bike. We’ve been waving at each other for years as I’ve been doing a longitudinal street photography essay called A Streetcar Named Aspire. Here is my description of that project: The brand new Atlanta Streetcar aspires to enliven businesses, entice tourists, and engage citizens. I’m taking photos along the route, both inside the streetcar and out, in order to document the changing city over time — its people, places, and potential.

Truth? Not a lot along the route has changed (see my poem about that here, if interested). But I’ve changed.
