I pinch myself every time I ride into this space (such as yesterday) and can’t believe I get to work here. It’s a circa-1906 cotton holding facility converted into live/work lofts in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of the City of Atlanta, right next to the Atlanta Beltline.
It’s where Bicycle Tours of Atlanta (and its new sister company, Amazing Atlanta Tours) is located, for which I lead tours. I also helped develop the brand-new Off the Wall mural tours. Currently I am developing the Sustainability-in-Action bike tour, targeting national and global professionals in the sustainability space (which, frankly, includes every industry at this point), to showcase one of the global 100 Resilient Cities as it embraces a changing world. In short, dream job.
And yet, I limit my time there to three days a week so that I can dedicate additional time, energy, and effort to my core competency as a writer. In addition to writing books and articles, I work with eco-minded companies, municipalities, and organizations. Keep me in mind if you need a blog or other content. It’s my sweet spot, and I’ve been pinching myself for years for being able to build a career doing that as well.
