Meet Johnathan. He is Today’s Nice Stranger. When I offered online to give my beloved unicycle to someone for free, he jumped on it. We met in a public park today for the handoff.
Turns out he learned to ride one as a kid in an upstate NY farm town not far from where I went to college, but hasn’t ridden since he was about 8 — the age of his daughter, who recently completed 3 years of cancer treatment and is now cancer-free and bursting with energy.
Johnathan wants to learn to ride again and to teach her and her younger brother (whom I met today as well). This story is just the beginning . . . (and to think I had been second-guessing giving Zippy away).
Looks to me like Jonathan is off to a great start!
