A dream is a goal with a deadline. My photos came back. My advisor edits are in. And now time’s tickin’.
“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” I don’t plan to fail (as I did here), and my whole heart, mind, and body is needed to be all-in to meet this goal. Thus, I’m taking a two-week break from social media to do edits of my new book, Slow Duck Crossing, in order to have it ready for some opportunities April 13. I’m coming at advocacy from a whole different direction here, team, in order to encourage our youngest leaders in a world at a crossroads.
In the meantime, I know a lot of momentous and catastrophic things are continuing to happen out there. Voter suppression. Mass shootings. The Derek Chauvin trial. A possible new surge in COVID diagnoses and deaths. Climate hell. Drivers killing people riding bikes every single day (no exaggeration here — it’s all over my timelines).
I’m bearing witness to these stories in my own way while working on this passion project. I’m also getting daily emails from people doing (or wanting to do) truly amazing things and I will continue to assist where and when I can.
See ya’ soon — maybe even out there Traveling at the Speed of Bike in Slow Duck Crossing.
It’s fiction. It’s real. It’s needed, for reasons I don’t yet know.
Trust the journey, right?
