Hi. My name is Pattie Baker. I am a professional writer and a League of American Bicyclists Cycling Instructor. I’m also a street photographer, organic gardener, mom, and voter.
My most recent book is titled Traveling at the Speed of Bike and it is available as a paperback or ebook on Amazon in all global markets, and as a paperback on BarnesAndNoble.com in the United States. (The paperback is also at a few public libraries, and it has made its way through some Little Free Libraries as well.) It’s about life — mostly on a bike, but that could just serve as a metaphor if bike riding is not your thing. See the kind reviews (including this one). I think you’ll like it. It’s a quick read, it costs less than going to a movie, and there is a chance it might change your life — bike riding defines mine, but trusting the journey (a major theme in the book) takes me to a whole other place.
My friend took this photo of me while we were riding around the City of Atlanta (which was just named one of the newest Bicycle Friendly Communities in the USA) and I like it. I feel kind of in my element in it and sort of simple in an increasingly complicated world (and check out how awesome Attica* looks since I painted her recently).

* Attica (along with other types of bikes) is featured throughout my book but especially in Chapter 2: The Bike in the Attic. I did an audio recording of part of that chapter that you may enjoy:
See here for links to buy my book, Traveling at the Speed of Bike, on Amazon in all global markets. I’m an indie author and your support is greatly appreciated. A portion of proceeds from the sale of all books is donated to help more women and girls ride bikes. Currently, that means funding my ability to do “Pedal Power with Pattie” Basic Bike Skills Classes for Women for free.
