I’ve chosen the final 5 women to feature August 27-31 in the “You Go, Girl” series. The last post will feature an interview with the director of a short film with which I have totally fallen in love. See the other 26 below (I jumped ahead of the one-a-day plan).
I will list additional women who’ve been recommended who I simply ran out of time to profile (this has been a much more time-consuming pro bono project than I expected, but it has been extremely helpful to me personally in finding the joy and passion of bike riding again after surviving a hit-and-run on July 13 in the place I call home).
Bottom line finding: There is NO shortage of women of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and ethnicities doing some major heavy lifting across the USA to make it more welcoming for bike riding. Anyone publishing general bike coverage that doesn’t reflect this is not doing something as easy as a basic Google search.
